Abstract

Objective To probe features of central neurocytoma in CT and MRI.Methods Ten pathologically proved central neurocytoma cases were analyzed of theCT and MRI features. Results Central neurocytoma lesions were located in thefrontal part of lateral ventricle, either unilateral or bilateral, sometimes in the thirdventricle. Mass or cyst lesions were frequent, and calcification and bleeding could beseen, displaying equal or higher density. MRI T1WI could be equal, slightly low or slighthigh signal, T2WI could be equal or slightly higher signal. Parts undergoing enhanced scancould be enhanced fully, indicating there was no or only slight edema in brain, or absence ofparenchyma involvement. Conclusion The imaging features of central neurocytomahelp to differentiate the neurocytoma from other tumors residing in lateral ventricle,serving as an important method in diagnosis of central neurocytoma.[
