NATURALIZATION AND DISSIMILATION IN C-E TRANSLATION OF SIGNS

In China,most inappropriate C-E translation of signs still exists in that people fail to take into consideration the conventions of the English language.Using proper translation strategy of making translation signs in accordance with international conventions is an important way in C-E translation of signs.Both strategies of naturalization and dissimilation have been used in the translation of signs in China,but it is naturalization strategy that should be mainly adopted in translation of signs due to the features and functions of signs.While in terms of the translating of the signs with Chinese traditional and cultural features,dissimilation strategy can be adopted properly.
