On the Poems written by Liang Yuan Emperor Xiao Yi

There are 119 poems of 109 subjects,including five characters,seven characters and blank verse,etc,written by LiangYuan emperor XiaoYi in existence.These poems can be devided into three catagories.The first are the poems of frontier expendition,they inherited ancient frontier expendition poems and started a precedent for the poet Chen Shen and Gao Shi of Tang Dynasty.The second are the poems of young ladies’ grudge and love feelings,they reflected the influences from the society and Xiao Yi’s feelings of his own love and marriage experiences.It is certain that the poems could only be written by a passionate person as Xiao Yi was.The third are the poems of describing the scenery and singing of the nature.In rhetoric,antitheses and straightforward style of writing,he made a contribution to the formation and development of Gelushi of Tang Dynasty.
