Abstract
Public Traffic Firstis one of the effective ways to alleviate the tension brought by traffic jam.Compared with traditional vehicles for public transportation and the rail rapid transit,Bus Rapid Transit(BRT) is one of the best choices to improve service quality and efficiency of public transit in short time due to the less investment,quick effect and short construction period.In this article,Guangzhou is taken as an example to be studied.By analyzing the characteristics of the public traffic system in Guangzhou and the existing problems,the feasibility and the necessity of constructing BRT system are discussed,and some ideas for layout of BRT,including stop-site setting,designing of the BRT lines,as well as the flexible operation mode for several BRT lines sharing a commoncorridor,are proposed.
