Abstract
Traffic jam is increasing becoming one ofthe important problems confronting our cities. Al-lowing for the urban high population density andthe limited road coverage, giving priority to publictraffic is the evitable choice to relax the tension oftraffic jam, and to realize the urban traffic sustain-able development. BRT (Bus Rapid Transit) willprovide a real applicable scenario to realize publictraffic first. The aim of the paper is to explore thechallenges of the realization of BRT and its prospectin China.
