Abstract
The nasality contrast of four liquid initials and the intrinsic nasality of nine basic vowels in Wuhan(武汉) Dialect were investigated with Nasometer. The results show that:(1) the nasality contrast of Initials between nasal and no-nasal is 57.2,which indicted that the reason which caused the so-called mixed phenomena between /n/and l is not the sound but the phoneme.(2) the oral vowels has intrinsic nasality and the nasality degree of first classic vowels are relative to the tongue positions.(3) the nasality of oral vowels and [l]、[z]are both less than 40,of initial nasal consonants are more than 80,of vowels preceding final nasal are between 40 and 80 respectively, which reflected the universal of nasality degree.
