Abstract
Objective To study the refraction change among the students with myopia. Methods The refraction status of 68 students(136 eyes) aged between 6 and 15 years has been determined with radioscopy after tropic amide cyclopedia for three years. The first visit showed that 95 eyes(70%) had mild myopia,29 eyes(21%) moderate myopia, and 12 eyes(9%) severe myopia. The first-year reexamination showed 88 eyes with mild myopia(65%),34 eyes with moderate myopia(25%) and 14 eyes with severe myopia(10%).The second-year reexamination showed 68 eyes with mild myopia(50%),52 eyes with moderate myopia(38%),and 16 eyes with severe myopia(12%).The third-year countercheck showed 53 eyes with mild myopia(39%),65 eyes with moderate myopia(48%),and 18 eyes with severe myopia(13%). Results The degree of myopia in the majority of students increased with the increase of age and school-age.Most of students with mild myopia changed into moderate myopia or severe myopia after a three-year period. Conclusions The degree of myopia in students is in direct proportion to the age and school-age;therefore,training good habit of using-eyes plays an important role in prevention of nearsightedness.
