Quality Evaluation of Randomized Controlled Study on Post Stroke Depression by Acupuncture

Abstract

Objective:To evaluate the quality of articles about acupuncture for depression.Methods:A systematic evaluation of all relevant randomized controlled trials(RCTs) about acupuncture and moxbustion treatment of depression was collected by searching some medical databases.The data were extracted according to Jadad criterion,then made a descriptive systematic review.Results:A total of 10 trials involving 668 patients were included.There were a lot of articles about acupuncture for post stroke depression in recent decade,but there was no high quality trials on it around the world,and the outcome measures in trials published by now could not evaluate the outcomes of acupuncture for post stroke depression accurately.Conclusion:The clinical study need more randomized controlled trials and design religious trials to confirm the clinical therapeutic effect of acupuncture for post stroke depression.
