Abstract
Objective:To explore the relationship between Ezrin and E-cadherin and clinical pathological parameters, tumor metastasis by detecting the expression of Ezrin and E-cadherin in clear cell renal cell carcinoma tissues and normal tissues adjacent to the cancer. Methods:Using immunohistochemistry to detect the expressions of Ezrin and E-cadherin in clear cell renal cell carcinoma tissues and the normal tissues adjacent cancer. Results:The expression of ezrin protein showed a significant difference between the clear cell renal cell carcinoma(84.4%,38/45) and the adjacent normal renal tissues(40,18/45)(χ2=18.9,P0.05).The abnormal expression of E-cadherin protein was significantly higher in the clear cell renal cell carcinoma (73.3% ,33/45) than that in adjacent normal renal tissues (35.6%,16/45)(χ2=12.9,P0.05).The correlation between the expression of Ezrin and E-cadherin is significant. The peotein expression of Ezrin and E-cadherin were correlated with lymph node involvement, venous tumor thrombus extention (P0.05).There was no correlation between the expression of Ezrin and E-cadherin and the age, gender, size and TNM stage of renal cell carcinoma (P0.05).Conclusion:Ezrin and E-cadherin are closely related with invasion and metastasis of clear cell renal cell carcinoma, which may be used as markers to predict metastasis and prognosis of the disease.
