Abstract

The physical properties soil planted with pure Pinus tabulaeformis and the mixed-stands of Pinus tabulaeformis and Mongolian oak were studied. The result was as follows:the bulk density varied dramatically with the type of stand and soil depth.Compared with Pinus tabulaeformis planting, the mixed stand of Pinus tabulaeformis and Mongolian oak could reduce soil bulk density through the function of litters and root system, and to some degree, improve soil prosity and raise soil moisture capacity.Total prosity and max moisture capacity were raised to by-1.668%~1.838% and-2.672%~17.555%,respectively.These findings showed that it was favorable to improve soil hydro-physical properties through the building of mixed-stand of Pinus tabulaeformis and Mongolian oak.
