Abstract
For the methods of comparison and PCA analyses,different types of water and soil conservation forests on soil physical and chemical characters were studied in semi-arid area of western Liaoning province.Based on the description of 13 kinds of soil factors,the soil improvements of different stands were stated synthetically.The results showed that mixed stands were better obviously than pure forest of Pinus tabulaeformis on soil improvement both on physics and chemistry.Different types of mixed stands of Pinus tabulaeformis showed different on soil improvement.The order of mixed forests in synthetically improving soil properties was following:YZ YH YC YSH YJ.On the other hand,the growth of trees were promoted by soil improvement.
