Abstract

Antennal morphology and sensilla of O.longicollis were studied using scanning electron microscopy(Hitachi,S-3000N).The results showed that the geniculate antenna consisted of the scape, pedicel and flagellum. There were wavy grooves on the antenna surface, and the sensilla could be classified into four types morphologically, including sensilla trichodea, sensilla chaetica, sensilla basiconic and sensilla gemmiformium, among which, sensilla trichodea could be divided into three subtypes, and two subtypes of sensilla chaetica could also be observed. No difference was found in the type and distribution of the sensilla between the male and female adults. There were differences among the distribution and number among the scape, pedicel and flagellum of the antenna.
