Abstract
Type typology, number and distribution pattern of antennal sensilla were studied in the weevil Eucryptorrhynchus chinenis(Olivier)(Coleoptera,Curculionidae)with scanning electron microscopy. The results showed that there were 5 types and 10 kinds of sensilla, comprising 4 kinds of basiconic sensilla,2 kinds of chaetica sensilla,2 kinds of trichoid sensilla,1 kind of styloconica sensilla and 1 kind of cylindric sensilla. The possible functions were discussed on the basis of the distribution, shape character of sensilla as well as the correlative references.Quantity and distribution of sensilla were different in each segment of antenna. No remarkable difference in the type, number and distribution of antennal sensilla on the antennal dorsal and ventral areas as found. There were remarkable sexual differences in total number of antennal sensilla.
