Abstract
Objective: To observe the clinical curative effect of traction and Tuina combined with acupuncture and moxibustion in treatment of nerve root type cervical spondylosis. Methods: 176 patients were randomly divided into treatment group( 82 cases)and control group( 94 cases). Two groups were both given traction and massage therapy, treatment group at the same time combined with acupuncture and moxibustion therapy and changes of clinical integral were observed, and the treatment after the four time points( 3,6,9,12 months) were followed up,and the relapse was observed. Results: The clinical cure rates of treatment group and control group were 62. 19%,40. 43%,and the total effective rates were 89. 02%,85. 11% respectively. The difference of clinical rates between two groups had statistical significance( P 0. 05). Compared with clinical points within the two groups before and after treatment, the difference had statistical significance( P 0. 05). Compared between groups after treatment, the difference was statistically significant( P 0. 05). VAS score of observation group after treatment was lower than that of the control group, the difference was statistically significant( P 0. 05). Recurrence rate was significantly higher than that of control group, and the difference was statistically significant( P 0. 05). Conclusion: Combination of acupuncture and moxibustion in treatment cervical spondylosis of nerve root type is better than simply using conventional traction and massage therapy in improving the clinical signs and symptoms, relieving pain, reducing the recurrence rate, etc.
