Abstract
Objective:To evaluate CT manifestations and pathological foundations of the intrahepatic peripheral cholangiocarcinoma, and to improve the understanding of intrahepatic peripheral cholangiocarcinoma. Methods: CT manifestation and clinical data of 12 cases with intrahepatic peripheral cholangiocarcinoma confirmed pathologically were analyzed retrospectively. Results: On the plain CT scanning, similar round or irregular lesion with low density and illdefined border were found in 12 cases;dilatation of the intrahepatic bile ducts around the tumor was seen in 5 cases, and capsular retraction sign in 4 cases. On enhanced scanning,no enhancement or mild enhancement of the lesion in arterial phase and portal venous phase, and piece like, separate like or homogeneous enhancement in the central regions were seen in the delayed imaging.Rare tumor vessels and plenty of interstitial fibrous tissue around tumor cells were found pathologically. Conclusion: The imaging features of intrahepatic peripheral cholangiocarcinoma are characteristic. It's pathological basis is helpful to undstand the CT manifestations.
