Abstract
The superstructure of the main bridge of Tangbaihe River Bridge is a prestressed concrete continuous box girder with variable cross section, comprising 4 spans of (40+60+60+40) m in one continuous unit. The piers of the Bridge are designed as hollow section thin-wall reinforced concrete piers resting on bored pile foundations. In this paper, the design of both the superstructure and substructure are presented, which provide helpful references to the reliable, economic and reasonable design of the medium-span continuous girders.
