Research on the Period of the Rise and Fall of Zi Di Shu in the Qing Dynasty

Zi Di Shu, a song accompanied by drums, was created by the bannermen in the Qing Dynasty. It was widely spread in Beijing, Shenyang and Tianjin from the reign of Yongzheng and early reign of Qianlong to the 1930s. According to the earliest edition of the drum songs, it came into being during the reign of Qianlong in Beijing. From the reign of Jiaqing to the mid-reign of Guangxu, it was very popular among the bannermen. From the late reign of Guangxu to the 1930s, those songs faded until they disappeared.
