Abstract
In order to offer basic data for teaching and to serve the scene construction of the campus, the woody plants in Xinyang normal university were surveyed and the species, the population and their distribution characteristic of the plants were analyzed. It was shown that there were about 179 species belonging to 109 genera in 58 families in the campus.Among them, the gymnosperm was 30 species belonging to 14 genera in 6 families and the angiosperm was 149 species belonging to 95 genera in 52 families. It was also shown that the family having the most species was the rosaceae. The number and their distribution of the species of the woody plants were reasonable, but the families including single generus and the generus including single species were more than others, accounting to 60.35% and 67.89% respectively.
