Abstract

The relationship between urban and rural areas in China has come to a new stage from 2007,which is marked by the strategic target of forming the new pattern of integration of economic and social development in urban and rural areas has been put forward.More and more planners pay attention to the planning of urban -rural integration,and much planning work has being practicing in this new period. The paper considers the content system and characteristics of planning in new era are very different fiom what had been practiced in 1990s,and the main purpose of planning is to eliminate the dual structure between urban and rural areas. Based on the analysis aboutboundary of governmental authority,models of urban -rural integration,different ways of urbanization,coordinated economic and social development,anddirection of institutional innovation,the paper proposes the institutional innovation and spatial organization are the key contents of the urban -rural integration planning in new period in China.
