Abstract

Prodigiosins is a group of red pigment,as the secondary metabolite produced by some Actinomycetes,Serratia sp.and some other bacteria.Prodigiosin has biological activities such as antibacterial, antimycotic, antimalarial activities, immunosuppressive activity and antitumor activity. Therefore, the prodigiosins have interested many researchers. The quality, bioactivity and production status of prodigiosin were introduced in this paper and the development of prodigiosins was also predicted.
