Abstract
Objective To discuss the correlation between B-type natriuretic peptide(BNP) and severity of coronary artery lesion in patients with coronary heart disease(CHD). Methods The patients(n=173) were chosen and given examinations of coronary angiography(CAG) and level of plasma BNP. The relationship between number of diseased coronary vessels, CHD types, severity of coronary lesion(Gensini integral) and level of BNP was analyzed. Results With the increase of number of diseased coronary vessels, the level of BNP showed an increasing trend(P0.05), and that increased in stable angina group, unstable angina group and myocardial infarction group(P0.05). Gensini integral was significantly higher in patients with BNP100 pg/mL than that in those with BNP100 pg/mL(73.7±35.9 vs.45.3±20.7, P0.05). Gensini integral was positively correlated to the level of BNP(r=0.476, P0.05). Conclusion The level of BNP is positively correlated to the severity of coronary lesion, which can be taken as an index for judging the severity of coronary lesion in CHD patients.
