Abstract

Objective To compare the prophylactic effect of tropisetron and droperidol combined with dexamethasone on postoperative nausea and vomiting(PONV) after laparoscopic cholecystectomy(LC).Methods One hundred and twenty ASAⅠorⅡpatients scheduled for LC were randomly divided into three groups with 40 cases each. The patient s in group A received a single preanaesthesia intravenous does of tropisetron 2 mg(add 0.9% NS to 3 ml),and in group B droperidol 2.5 mg plus dexamethasone 10 mg(total 3 ml) and in group C 0.9%NS 3 ml.Observed the incidence of PONV in the 24 h.Results The PONV incidences of group A,B,C were 25%,30% and 75%.Both group A and group B significantly decreased the total incidences of PONV(P0.05)in the 24 hours. But there was no marked difference between group A and B.Conclusion Tropisetron and combination of droperidol and dexamethasone can significantly reduce the incidence of PONV after LC.But the value-capability ratio of droperidol plus dexamethasone is better than tropisetron.
