Considerations on Capacity Estimation of Annual Berth Throughput of Container Terminal

In recent years,the actual throughput of container berth is much higher than the design throughput capacity in China.How to explain and determine the annual berth throughput capacity of container terminal reasonably is becoming the most important problem which port and shipping companies care about,particularly the department of port planning.The systematic effect of container terminal is researched by contrasting the design method of the current standard of port design in various factors,for example,the factors of container linear shipping,berth unitization and large-sized vessel.On this basis,a theoretical study and further quantitative analysis are carried out to reveal some internal reasons for the fact that the actual berth throughput capacity of container terminal is more than the design capacity.
