Abstract
The experimental study of 20 000 Tonnage Multi-Purpose Ship Form has been carried out.Compared with ships having similar tonnage,it is some difficult for the ship due to its high Froude's number and big block coefficient.Based on the experiences at home and abroad and the analysis of SSSRI's in formation of the same ship type,two schemes of ship lines with different bulbous bow were designed.From model tests,an optimized ship form is recommended,which would be the solution of the powering performance of this type ship and the reference for design.
