Abstract
The new triazene reagent, p-azobenzenediazoaminoazonitrobenzene (abbreviated as ADAANB) was synthesized and its molecular structure proved by IR-spectrometry and elementary analysis. In a borate buffer solution of pH 9.4~10.2, and in the presence of Tween-80, ADAANB reacts with Cd(Ⅱ) to form a stable coordination complex, having its absorption maxima at 566nm, while the λ_(max) of the reagent itself is at 455nm. The apparent molar absorptivity of this complex is 1.5×10~5L·mol~(-1)·cm~(-1). Beer′s law is obeyed in the range of 0~16μg of Cd~(2+) per 25ml of solution. A brief discussion on the reaction mechanism is given.
