Abstract
Benzaldehyde glycol acetal was synthesized from benzaldehyde and glycol in the presence of SO~(2-)_4/TiO_2-WO_3.The factors influencing the synthesis were discussed and the best conditions were found out.The optimum conditions are:molar ratio of glycol to benzaldehyde is 1.25:1,the quantity of catalyst is equal to 0.50% of feed stocks, the reaction temperature is 86~98℃,and the reaction time is 50 min.SO~(2-)_4/TiO_2-WO_3 is an excellent catalyst for synthesizing benzaldehyde glycol acetal and its yield can reach over 77.3%.
