Evolution of "Zhanji" in Ming and Qing Dynasties

The word Zhanji often appears in many ancient literature and history works.At present,many scholars think the meaning of Zhanjiis the same as Ruji.But,Zhanjihas experienced endless evolution in Ming and Qing Dynasties.In the early Ming Dynasty,Zhanjiwas a part of tax management system.In Qing Dynasty,it had become a new part of census register management system.At the same time it had been applied to control migratory population.The process of the evolution was completed under the complicated background of society,economy and politics.
