Abstract

Objective To observe the clinical effect of warm needling therapy plus plum-blossom needle in treating shoulder periarthritis.Method A total of 128 patients with shoulder periarthritis were randomized into a treatment group and a control group,64 in each. The treatment group was managed by warm needling therapy plus tapping by plum-blossom needle, and the control group was intervened by electroacupuncture. The therapeutic effect was evaluated after 2 treatment courses for the two groups.Result The total effective rate was 95.3% in the treatment group versus 81.2% in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P0.05).Conclusion Warm needling therapy plus tapping by plum-blossom needle is an effective approach in treating shoulder periarthritis.
