Abstract
The cucumber seeds were treated 1、5 and 10 min in magnetic field with intensity 100、200、300 and 400 mT,respectively. The biological effects of cucumber seedlings after treated were compared with that of the control group. The results shows that proline content was increased 15.3%,and indicates that the drought resistance of cucumber seedlings could be enhanced due to reduction of the respectively, penetration potential of plant cells. The SOD and POD activity were increased 17.5% and 26.2% which shows that water stress could be alleviated by eliminating the free radicle and increasing metabolism. The MDA content was decreased 12.9%~23.4%,which shows that the magnetic field treatment can reduce the degree of membrane lipid peroxidation and the drought harm on cucumber seedlings.
