Abstract

The Gauss-Seidel iterative method for solving linear systems of the form Ax = bis discussed. A.Hadjidimos has proposed a preconditioner I + Cα in 2003. In this paper, if the coefficient matrix A is a H matrix, then ( I + Cα)A is also a H matrix. In addition, two numerical examples are given for illustrating the results.
