Abstract
Objective:To investigate effect of combination of traditional Chinese and Western Medicine on lung function and immune function of patients with acute exacerbation chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(AECOPD).Methods:A total of 114 patients with AECOPE in our hospital were randomly divided into two groups buy half:he combined group and the western medicine group.Patients in western medicine group were given with oxygen,expectorant,anti-tussive,anti infection and glucocorticoid therapy while patients in the combined groups were given with clearing heat and eliminating phlegm treatment with traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)based on the western medicine groups. The TCM syndrome integral lung function index FEV1% and FEV1/FVC%,the variation of the distance and the total efficiency of walking,T cell subsets CD4+/CD8+,St George's respiratory questionnaire score and 6minutes of two groups were compared before and after treatment. Results:The TCM syndrome score of the combined groups after treatment were 6.30±3.15,significantly lower than that before treatment and the Western medicine group(P0.05).The lung function index FEV1% and FEV1/FVC% of the combined groups were(76.71±6.69)% and(77.08±4.42)% respectively, significantly higher than that of before treatment and the Western medicine groups(P0.05).The level of CD4+and CD4+/CD8+in the combined groups were 43.59±6.71 and 1.80±0.21,significantly higher than those before the treatment and Western medicine group(P0.05)while the level of the CD8+was 24.18±3.72,significantly lower than that before treatment and Western medicine group(P0.05).The SGRQ score in the combined groups were 26.95±4.35,significantly lower than that before treatment and the Western medicine groups(P0.05).The 6MWT distance in the combined groups were(355.62±60.31)m,significantly higher than those before the treatment and Western medicine group(P0.05).Conclusions:The conventional therapy combined with heat clearing and phlegm therapy could significantly improve the lung function, improve immune function and quality of life after recovery of patients with acute exacerbation of COPD.The comprehensive curative effect is better than the routine treatment of Western medicine.
