p53,CD_(34),E-cadherin expression in bladder transitional cell carcinorma and their prognostic value

Abstract
Objective To study p53,CD 34 , E cadherin expression in bladder transitional cell carcinoma. Methods Immunohistochemical method was used to detect p53,CD 34 , E cadherin in 46 cases of bladder transitional cell carcinoma and 8 normal controls. Results Normal p53 and E cadherin expression was found in all the 8 normal bladder mucosa.Abnormal p53 and E cadherin expression were found in 10 and 21 cases of bladder cancer(21.7%,45.6%).Abnormal p53 and E cadherin expression were inversely correlated to grade,stage and high recurrence.CD 34 expression in bladder cancer differs from that in normal controls,but no prognostic value has been observed. Conclusions Abnormal expression of p53 and E cadherin is closely related to the malignant progression of bladder cancer.Detect of p53 and E cadherin expression is helpful in predicting the biological behavior of bladder transitional cell carcinoma.
