Abstract
Objective To explore the relationship between varioliform gastritis and precancerous lesion of gastric cancer. Methods The pathological data of varioliform gastritis, chronic superficial gastritis and chronic atrophic gastritis were analyzed retrospectively. Results The positive rate of HP in varioliform gastritis was 82% higher than that in chronic superficial gastritis(45.1%) and chronic atrophic gastritis(56.4%)(P 0.01).The detection rate of intestinal metaplasia and atypical hyperplasia in mature varioliform gastritis was 12.7% and 14.1% respectively, which were significantly higher than that in chronic superficial gastritis(P 0.01).There was no difference of the detection rate of intestinal metaplasia and atypical hyperplasia in between varioliform gastritis and chronic atrophic gastritis. Conclusion Mature varioliform gastritis have the potential cancerization, which is precancerous lesion of gastric cancer.
