Abstract
The Soviet and Chinese parties were very close from 1949 to 1953. After 1949, the political situation changed dramatically in China, ending its history of semi-colonialism and semi-feudalism, breaking through the block of imperialism in the East and causing a substantial change of the proportion of political power in both the Far East and the whole world. Then the Soviet Union changed their policy toward China: showing expected respect for Mao Zedong and the Chinese Party; uniting with China and offering support in China's construction of economic foundation. However, the deep-rooted Chauvinism hurt the feeling of the Chinese people and their state interests, blocked the smooth development of the mutual relationship and finally paved way for the great disputes between the two countries.
