Abstract

Objective:To investigate the clinical utility of Metapex in pulpotomy in young permanent teeth.Method:Twenty eight patients, thirty one young permanent teeth with vital pulps exposure caused by crown fractures, caries and broken abnormal central cusp were treated by pulpotomy with Metapex. The teeth were checked clinically and radiographically during fixed intervals.Result:Twenty nine young permanent teeth(from twenty six patients) showed radiographic evidence of dentin bridge formation within 1 to 3 months after pulpotomy. The roots kept development until apical closure occurred 1.5 to 3.0 years later. The overall success rate was 93.55 %.Conclusion:Metapex is an excellent material for pulpotomy of young permanent teeth.
