Clinical Research of Acute Exacerbation of COPD Treated with Qingre HuatanMixture and Western Medicine

Objective To observe the clinical efficacy on acute exacerbation of COPD(chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases) differentiated as blockage of phlegm and heat in the lung pattern / syndrome and treated with Qingre Huatan Mixture and western medicine.Methods Eighty cases of acute exacerbation of COPD differentiated as blockage of phlegm and heat in the lung pattern / syndrome were randomized into a treatment group and a control group,40 cases in each one.The medication was used for 14 days.The changes in TCM symptoms,blood routine results,blood gas analysis and pulmonary analysis were observed and compared before and after treatment in the two groups.Results The clinical efficacy in the treatment group was superior obviously to the control group,indicating the significant difference(P 0.05).The score of TCM pattern / syndrome in the treatment group was obviously better than that in the control group(P 0.01).The results of blood routine test,blood gas analysis and pulmonary analysis were improved in the patients of the two groups.The results in the treatment group were better than those in the control group(P 0.01).Conclusion Qingre Huatan Mixture and western medicine relieve effectively the clinical symptoms and physical signs of the patients of acute exacerbation of COPD differentiated as blockage of phlegm and heat in the lung pattern / syndrome.The combined medication improves significantly the results of blood routine test,blood gas analysis and pulmonary analysis,as well as the survival quality of patients.
