Abstract
From the blockbuster of Thunderstorm to the enduring appeal of Sunrise,Wilderness and Peking Man,Cao Yu's four great tragedies witnessed his great tragic artistry.Cao Yu's unique expression of the tragedy is formed on the basis of the deep understanding of the life individuality and references of western tragic art.The development of Cao Yu's tragic artistic style is not only the changes of social setting,but also the reflections of his continue exploring to mental world.At the same time,Cao Yu's tragic style has ranged from sharp to flat.
