Abstract

Against the background of the writings of the history of Chinese philosophy in the early 20th century,the present paper,via a comparative research of two methodologies of writing the history of Chinese philosophy,represented by Zhong Tai's The History of Chinese Philosophy and Hu Shi's An Outline of History of Chinese Philosophy,expounds that the academic feature of Zhong Tai's work lies in his probe into a Chinese style of narration and consequently,this approach's merits and demerits are of important use for reference in breeding today's discipline consciousness of the history of Chinese philosophy.
