ZHANG Dai-nian and His Studies of the History of Chinese Philosophical Issues

Mr. ZHANG Dai-nian's (1909-2004) studies of the history of Chinese philosophical issues discussed a style and method different from the ordinary studies of the history of Chinese philosophy,by which unique achievements in the studies of contemporary Chinese philosophy had been attained. According to the present situation of the studies of the history of Chinese philosophy,Mr. ZHANG's studies of Chinese philosophical issues can not only help us examine the quintessence of Chinese philosophy and inspire us to correctly understand substances of Chinese philosophy,but also give us many methodical inspirations which could help us concern and summarize the historical development of Chinese philosophy,expand routes and methods of the history of Chinese philosophy,and improve the development and construction of the discipline of the history of Chinese philosophy.
