Abstract

AA-AM supper absorbent resin was synthesized from acrylic acid(AA) and acrylic amide(AM) by inverse suspension method. The optimum reaction conditions were determined as follows: AA is 20g(280mmol), n(AA) ∶n(AM+AA)=0.6, the crosslinker dosage and the activator dosage is equal to 0.2‰ and 0.6‰ of the monomers total mass respectively. The reaction temperature is 65℃, the reaction time is 1.5h.The resin can absorb deionizing water over 1250 times of its own weight and 0.9% NaCl aqueous solution over 140 times.
