Abstract
Environmental protection super absorbent resin polyethylene-acrylic acid(PE-AA) was synthesized by opposition-emulsion polymerization method stem grafting copolymerization using water affinity groups and bases acrylic acid(AA) and polyethylene(PE) as monomer. Effects of raw material dosage, NaOH solution dosage, reaction temperature, reaction time, initiator type and its dosage, crosslinking agent dosage and so on were studied. Obtained polymerizations conditions were m(AA): m(PE)8︰1, AA 32 g,25%(w)NaOH solution 40 mL,reaction temperature 70 ℃, reaction time 3 h, initiator (NH4)2S2O8/NaHSO3 6 mL, crosslinking agent epichlorohydrin 2 mL, water absorption of this resin was 455.3 g/g. Experimental results conformed that water absorption of super absorbent resin PE-AA was better than other resins grafting by polypropylene or polystyrene.
