On Serving Regional Economy and Social Development via Local Universities and Colleges' Scientific Research——Taking Wenzhou as an Example

At the knowledge-based economy ages,the development of the universities is bound to be connected to regional economic growth and social development.At present,local universities and colleges have met a series of setbacks and challenges in its science-oriented service of the regional economy and society.To settle the problem,the universities and colleges should start from three aspects: one is to create a friendly external environment in local universities for the intergrowth of scientific research and regional economy;the second is to strengthen their scientific soft power to serve the construction of local economy;the third is to find the combination and build the connection between the growth of local universities and the regional development.All these services will stimulate coordinated innovations by new forces of creativity,encourage education to integrate into the growth of the technology,economy and culture,and finally provide better service to the development of regional economy.As a result,a higher chance of survival for these universities will be gained as their capacity of sustainable development increases.
