CLINICAL EFFICACY OF CO-ARTEMETHER IN THE PATIENT WITH FALCIPARUM MALARIA

To observe the clinical efficacy of compound artemether in patients with Falciparum malaria,Patients with Plasmodium falciprum were selected and treated with compound artemether by the administration of 4 times in 3 days, administered 4 pieces at first, and 8,24,and 48 hours later, totals 16 pieces. After drug administration, performed the blood film test and temperature examination in preselective time,followed up for 28 days to observe the fever clearance time and the parasite clearance time.Results obtained show among 167 patients with falciprum malaria treated with compound artemether ,the mean fever clearance time is 20.4±8.4 hours, the mean parasite clearance time is 37.9±7.9 hours. The mean parasite clear rate in 24 hours is 97.4% ,The cure rate of 28 days is 94.1% and no apparent side effect was observed. So compound artemether might be an effective drug for falciparum malaria infection.
