Telazosin hydrochloride combined with Qianlieanshuan treat chronic abacterial prostatitis/chronic pelvis pain syndrome

Objective To investigate the efficacy and mechanism of telazosin hydrochloride combined with Qianlieanshuan to treat chronic abacterial prostatitis and chronic pelvic pain syndrome (CAP/CPPS).Methods Seventy eight patients diagnosed as CAP/CPPS were undergone a series of examinations including physical examination, urine analysis, seminal fluid conventional microscopic examination, bacteria cultivation of expressed prostatic secretions (EPS), medistream urine before prostatic massage and the beginning section urine after prostatic massage. The patients were randomly divided into experimental group and control group. After 6 weeks treatment, curative effect was compared between the two groups.Results Of the 40 cases in experimental group, 29 cases were cured, 7 cases improved, the total effective rate was 90.0%; of the 38 cases in control group, 16 cases were cured, 9 cases improved, the total effective rate was 65.8%. The difference between the two groups was significant (P0.01).Conclusion The combined use of telazosin hydrochloride and Qianlieanshuan for the treatment of CAP/CPPS may relax urethral smooth muscle and improve the urinary function, therefore relieve the symptoms of the chronic pelvic pain and improve the effectiveness of the treatment. The combined treatment is safe.
