Abstract

With the development of economy, the conflict between ecological environment and development is becoming seriously.Using the ecological footprint model can reflect their relationship and relieve the conflict.Compared ecological footprint with ecological,it can judge the sustainable development in this area. This article focuses on the ecological footprint and ecological capacity's calculating analysis in Kunming during 2000-2010.It shows that the development of Kunming is unsustainable and the per capita ecological footprint takes on an increasing rate, from 2.1845hm2 in 2000 to 2.97 hm2 in 2010,rising up to 0.7855 hm2,which is 35.96% of the ecological footprint in 2000;however,the per capita ecological capacity presents a downward trend, from 0.6072 hm2 in 2000 fell to 0.5022 hm2 in 2010,decreasing amplitude is 0.105 hm2.The per capita ecological deficit continues to expand and ecological deficit is much higher than the range of ecological capacity during 2000-2010,the ecological deficit from 1.5707 hm2 rose to 2.6358 hm2,riseing up to 1.0651 hm2 and 68% increase over 2000.Ecological pressure index is the average of 4.7674,while land sustainable utilization index is only 0.2098.Therefore,the ecological environment of Kunming is extremely unsafe and is in an unsustainable situation which should draw attention of the related departments.
