Abstract

Yu Xin was dispatched to the North Dynasty as a diplomat when he was 42 years old, and he never went back. The humanism, social culture, and natural environment of North Dynasty had a great impact on him, and it was not a surprise that it was later commented that his literal works became more and more mature and his poetry created in his old age was widely known. From the analysis of the change of his mentality, we can understand more deeply his poetry, and learn more of the mentality change of the scholars from South to the North who had to adapt to a new environment.
