Abstract
Structuralist Narratology has put forward a set of new narrative thoughts against the traditional narrative theory. That is, they propose a new theory of narratology that treats literary structural forms, rather than the content of literary works, as the noumenon and the rule formula, instead of the author's subjective spirit, as the impetus of study. Derrida, who starts from his deconstructionism, however, percipiently notices the deadly weak point of Structuralist Narratology that overemphasized the universal oneness of literary narration but completely overlooked its practical otherness. He then advances his own narrative theory based on the talented creativity of the active individuals as well as the diversity of discourse texts. His endeavors have promoted the Western Symbolic Narratology to a new stage.
