Pulmonary extraskeletal osteosarcoma:a case report and review of literature

Objective:To report one case of extraskeletal osteosarcoma occurring in body of pulmonary and study its clinical and pathological features.Methods:One case of extraskeletal osteosarcoma occurring in body of pulmonary was investigated by histopathologic and immunohistochemical observation.Results:Microscopically,the tumor cells were dispersed with suffusion.The nucelus were anachromasised,and their heteromorphism were obvious.Tumorous sclerotin could be seen in the tumor tissue.Immunohistochemically,the tumor cells showed positive for Vimentin and CD99,but negative for MC,CR,SM - actin,Desmin,S - 100,NSE,Syn,CgA,Bcl - 2,CD34,CD117,HMB45,Melanoma -pan,LCA,AACT,CD68,CK,EMA,CD15 and CEA.Conclusion:Extraskeletal osteosarcoma occurring in body of pulmonary is rare and it's prognosis is poor.Early detection and early treatment will improve the survival rate of patients. It should be differentiated from the other ossific carcinoma occurred in the pulmonary.
