Abstract

This thesis has discussed the history and disputation and actuality of general education and professional education in China and foreign countries.It has also pointed out that higher education is bearing heavier responsibilities than ever because of the development of society,lifelong education,the whole development of person and the rebuild of human spirits.The combination of general education and professional education is the necessity of higher education in the new period.
