The observation of clinical therapeutic effect of one-time root canal therapy 173 diseased teeth

Objective To study the clinical therapeutic effect of one-time root canal therapy for acute,chronic pulpitis and periapical periodontitis which have no symptom of root tip.Methods Choose 173 teeth from the year of 2000 to 2005,with acute,chronic pulpitis and periapical periodontitis.These teeth were divided into two groups randomly.Group 1 was treated by one-time root canal therapy and Group 2 was treated by multi-visit root canal therapy.Then they were follow-up visited at 2 years and were evaluated according to X-ray film and clinical examination to reveal the difference of the two groups on their healing and curative effect.Results The curative ratio in group 1 was 92.86%,groups 2,89.89%.By χ2 test,P0.05;there was no significant difference between the two groups.Conclusion There is no significant difference between the two groups on curative ratio,so there is no difference on treatment effect between two kinds of treatment methods.That shows one-time root canal therapy can be adopted extensively.
